What we process and why

  • When you contact us by form, email or phone we process the details you provide, such as name, email, phone number and your message, to answer and handle your enquiry. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in responding, or steps prior to entering a contract (Art. 6(1)(f) and (b) GDPR). We keep the data while the matter is open and at most 24 months after the last contact, unless a contract requires longer.
  • Cookies and similar technologies for statistics and marketing are only used if you have consented (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and the ePrivacy rules). See our cookie policy for the services, what they do and how long they keep data.
  • Cookie-free visit statistics. We count visits without storing anything in your browser and without being able to identify you, to understand which pages are used. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in improving the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  • Your consent choice. When you make a choice in the cookie banner we store it with a random ID, the time and the categories you chose, so that we can demonstrate consent. No IP address is stored. Kept for three years. Legal basis: legal obligation to demonstrate consent (Art. 6(1)(c) and 7(1) GDPR).
  • Tools on the website. Some articles and pages include tests that use Google’s PageSpeed Insights service, for example how fast a page loads on mobile or what a site sends before the visitor has answered the cookie banner. When you enter a web address and start the test, your browser sends the address to Google’s PageSpeed Insights service, which loads the page and returns the result. Google receives the web address and your IP address, as with any request over the internet. We do not store the address or the result, and the test only runs when you start it. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in giving you the result you ask for (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The article on domain names has a test that reads a domain’s settings. Your browser then asks Google’s Google Public DNS service about the domain you entered and makes a request to that domain’s website. Google and that website receive the domain name and your IP address, and we store neither the domain nor the result. Calculators, questions and checklists in the articles are worked out in your browser. What you enter is not sent to us or anyone else and is not stored.

Who receives the data

  • Google Ireland Ltd (PageSpeed Insights) — only when you start a test in an article.
  • Google LLC (Google Public DNS) — only when you start the domain test in the article on domain names.
  • Providers that help us run the website, such as hosting and email, processing data on our behalf under contract.
  • Google Ireland Ltd (Google Maps, Google Fonts, Google Ads, Google Marketing Platform, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager) — only if you have consented to the category.
  • Userback Pty Ltd (Userback) — only if you have consented to the category.
  • Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd (Microsoft Advertising, Microsoft Clarity) — only if you have consented to the category.
  • Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd (Meta-pixeln) — only if you have consented to the category.
  • PixelYourSite (körs på webbplatsen) (PixelYourSite) — only if you have consented to the category.

Some providers may process data outside the EU/EEA. In that case safeguards approved by the European Commission are used, such as standard contractual clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
